The king of desert races kicks off this weekend in Ensenada, Baja California. Hundreds of motorcycles, cars, ATVs, and trucks are gathering for the 2011 SCORE Baja 1000 which will kick off on Friday morning.
This will be the 44th running of the Baja 1000. The race, which will take riders over a 700 mile course through the Baja deserts, features riders from 34 US states and international riders from places like Australia, Chile, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Mexico, and Puerto Rico.
The Baja 1000 is a grueling race that takes a lot of time and preperation. Here's a look at how Mikey Childress, who will be racing with the Monster Energy Off-Road team, prepares for the Baja 1000.
